Tech Lead - Node.js/JavaScript (f/m/div)

Job description

finleap connect GmbH is a joint force of finleap companies, offering a full range of leading fintech solutions to financial institutions across Europe. We cater to clients’ requirements, from stand-alone microproducts to all-in-one solutions, we ensure that all levels of digital maturity are covered by our services. Our focus lies on the international growth, with experienced fintech experts in France, Italy, and Spain leading the charge.

You will join the Digital Bank team to collaborate with engineering-, product- and design experts on a state of the art mobile banking solution. The Digital Bank is one of our white-label products, which means your work goes all the way from enabling snappy and reliable user experiences to the technical challenge of scaling them across many, many tenants.

In order to be successful in this role, you will draw from your experience in senior engineering roles. You will quickly gain a cohesive understanding of the product as a whole, identifying and executing our core engineering efforts, defining the scope and bringing the team along with you.

What will keep you challenged?

  • You will be leading the continued development of our core backend services, enabling stability, high performance and customizability, as well as scalability across tenants.
  • You’ll be using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL/Apollo, microservices, DynamoDB, serverless/lambda, Docker, AWS, GitHub, GitHub Actions – to drop a few buzzwords – and your skill to add or remove from this list as you see fit for the product, business and team.
  • We think your way of working is more important than the exact tools you have already worked with.
  • In the end, the most important thing for us is finding a professional interested in playing an important role in shaping our fintech products together with our cross-functional team.

    Requirements

    What will make you succeed?

      • Advanced JavaScript experience and understanding beyond frameworks and tools.
      • Experience mentoring and motivating team members
      • Advanced Node.js experience
      • Professional GraphQL experience
      • A disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
      • Ability to work and communicate in a fast-paced international startup environment
      • High proficiency in spoken and written English

We know an “ideal candidate” does not exist, as we are all growing, learning and adapting constantly. Above is the baseline we have defined for this role. Of course, it is beneficial if you can bring more directly relevant experiences to the table, but – again – we trust in your motivation and ability to learn things as you go. We might be able to teach you a thing or two as well ;)

      What more can you bring

      • Relevant experiences and topics to further develop yourself in and that would be beneficial for this role, could be one or more of the following:
      • Experience with serverless architectures
      • Experience with frontend development/React
      • Experience with mobile applications
      • Experience in the financial/banking sector. Do you know what IBAN, SEPA, PSD2, or KYC means?
